UPC-A is the 12-digit retail barcode used on products across the United States and Canada. The standard size is 37.29 mm wide by 25.93 mm tall at 100% magnification (0.33 mm X-dimension), and GS1 allows scaling between 80% and 200%. Use the X-dimension control to match your packaging, then download a vector file for your designer or printer.
Verified before you print
BarcodeKit draws every barcode from one precise geometry model, then reads it back with ZXing, an open-source scanner engine running in your browser. PNG, SVG, true-size PDF and EPS downloads all come from that same verified geometry, so what we check is exactly what you print.
Private by design
Nothing you type or upload leaves your device. There is no account, no server-side processing and no tracking of your product numbers.

Frequently asked questions
Where do I get a real UPC or EAN number?
From GS1 (gs1us.org in the US, or your country's GS1 office via gs1.org). GS1 US sells single GTINs as well as company prefixes for larger catalogues. Enter the number GS1 gives you here and BarcodeKit turns it into a print-ready barcode.
What size should a UPC-A barcode be?
The nominal size is 0.33 mm per module, which gives about 37.3 × 25.9 mm including the numbers. Do not go below 80% (0.264 mm) and avoid truncating the bar height, which retailers may reject.
Is BarcodeKit free?
Yes. Generate, verify and download barcodes as PNG, SVG, PDF or EPS with no account, no watermark and no sign-up.
Are my barcode numbers uploaded anywhere?
No. Barcodes are drawn and checked entirely in your browser. Your product numbers, SKUs and CSV files never leave your device.
Do you sell UPC or EAN numbers?
No, and we recommend you never buy them from resellers. Official UPC, EAN and GTIN numbers are licensed by GS1, the standards body. Amazon and most retailers check numbers against the GS1 database and can reject recycled ones.
